ソウル市永登浦区汝矣島洞と麻浦区丹仁洞の間にある漢江にある島です。漢字では栗島と書き、その形が殻をむいた栗に似ていることからこの名前が付けられました。また、「加山」とも呼ばれ、汝矣島の別称である「羅衣州」に対応して「栗州」とも呼ばれた。 『新貞東国要事城南』によると、バムソムの周囲は800歩と記録されており、現在は汝矣島洞の上バムソムとダンインドンの下バムソムの2つの島で構成されています。 『新鄭東国要旨城南』の漢城府の項には、栗島という地名が「麻浦の南に位置し、薬草と桑の木が植えられている」と記されている。なお、栗洲という地名は「栗島」「賀山」とも呼ばれます。
