I visited the Donggwanwangmyo Tomb in Seoul Dongmyo, located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. This is the shrine of Guan Yu, a famous general from the Chinese classic Three Kingdoms. Address: Dongmyo Park, 84 Nangye-ro 27-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul Phone number: 02-2148-4167
There are a lot of people during the weekend at Dongmyo Market. Be sure to visit Dongmyo Shrine, where the Guan Yu shrine is located.
Dongmyo fried meat, mixed noodles, 1,000 won toast, and 1,000 won coffee are foods I always eat. Food that you enjoy every time you eat it.
It's nice to take a walk around Dongmyo Shrine 😃

Among the tombs that enshrine the spirit of Guan Yu, a Chinese general, this shrine is located in Sungin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It is said that Guan Yu's spirit occasionally appeared during the Japanese invasions of Korea and helped the Joseon and Ming armies. It was built under the order of Emperor Shinjong of the Ming Dynasty and was completed in 1601 (34th year of King Seonjo's reign). It is a one-story pavilion-shaped house with a tile roof and is a treasure. Designated as No. 142

A shrine dedicated to the general Guan Yu of the Shu Dynasty. It is said that the king of Joseon built it as a sign of gratitude when he learned that the generals of the Ming Dynasty who came to help Joseon during the Japanese invasions of Korea were building a shrine to Guan Yu to pray for victory. Originally, there was a middle tomb in Dongmyo, Seomyo, Nammyo, and Bukmyo, but the only thing that remains is Dongmyo. Now Dongmyo is famous for its flea market, but originally, there was this tomb of King Dongguan, and a flea market was built around it. It has an atmosphere between one of the doors. It’s fun because it’s completely different.

The name 'Dongmyo' refers to Donggwanwangmyo, the shrine of Guan Yu from Romance of the Three Kingdoms. If you actually go to Dongmyo Flea Market, there is a shrine there, and that is Guan Yu's shrine. The reason this shrine was built here is said to be that Guan Yu played a major role in defeating the Japanese forces during the Imjin War, so after the war Emperor Shenzong of the Ming sent funds and a handwritten plaque, and it was founded. It was later rebuilt in 1739, the 15th year of King Yeongjo's reign. Since there is a shrine to Guan Yu in Korea, please stop by when you visit Dongmyo. Thank you.
