Seoul Folk Art Market Hwanghak-dong is located outside Dongdaemun, one of the four main gates of Seoul. After the Korean War, refugees with nowhere to go flocked to the Cheonggyecheon Stream, forming a shantytown. The Hwanghak-dong Market began when they started selling street stalls and junk shops to make a living. It grew significantly by mainly dealing in antiques, and there were cases where antiques purchased at bargain prices were judged to be national treasures or cultural assets, making a huge profit. In the early 2000s, Cheonggyecheon Stream Restoration work: The closed Dongdaemun Stadium was moved to the soccer field in 2003 and the Dongdaemun Folk Flea Market was opened. The Seoul Folk Flea Market was opened in the current location in 2008. There really is a lot to see here! Antiques, vintage, alcohol, old items, etc. It has a similar concept and size to the Dongmyo Flea Market right next door, but it is located in a building so it is clean and above all, the merchants are friendly. Some places accept credit cards and some do not, so check before purchasing.

Seoul Folk Flea Market near Jongmyo 👀 Many attractions connected to the surrounding roads,,, After parking in the public parking lot, I returned to my childhood and saw piles of clothes filled with old things~^^ My eyes were busy with all kinds of things haha I was hungry inside the Pungmul Market to cool off from the heat, so I ordered steamed kodari. The kodari that I dried myself is chewy and closer to stew than stew^^ and the taste is also delicious. After a quick bite to eat, I looked back... I was excited by the photo zones on the 2nd floor that had recreated the old 70's scenery 📷 🤳 It's fun to take pictures If you're lucky, you can find treasures in this traditional market ^^ Please note that it is closed on Tuesdays,,, I recommend public transportation if possible ~~ I wasted a lot of time in the parking lot Anyway,,, I went to see it again in a scale that I couldn't see even 1/10th of.
