SSArigogae Park

A small green area on the hill southeast of Bang Bang intersection. 551 Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu. This is... its size and reality are embarrassing to call it a neighborhood park. ;; It has quite a slope so it cannot be considered a normal walking trail. Because the current location of Yangjae Station is above a hill, the old road was naturally formed to the side, avoiding the hill. I went through what is now called ‘Market Road’ or ‘Maljuk Street’ (where the Yangjae Police Station and Post Office are located), passed the Yangjae Overpass, and crossed the slope towards Baengbang Intersection. At the border of Ssagogae Village (located by the red star on the map above), there was a Seonghwangdang tree praying for the well-being of passers-by, and from above, military bunkers, remnants of the war, were scattered throughout the neighborhood park until the 1970s. Those traces were buried and covered with dirt, leaving behind green space rather than residential land.

The only natural recreation trail near Bang Bang intersection in Yeoksam-dong 🍀 A place full of phytoncide!! I went all the way to the top, and it only took about 5 minutes. ✓ When I finished climbing the stairs, my heart rate went up to 120. ✓ Continue walking around the top of the mountain in that exact condition. It will be good for reducing body fat and dieting. ✓ There is a ‘chin-up bar’ and a ‘stretching machine’ at the top of the mountain, so it’s a good idea to give it a try. ✅ Locational significance •Yeoksam-dong was an area with many mountains and fields in the past. (There are a lot of Ssari trees around here, so they were often used as brooms/fences/farm tools!) •Ssaligogae was one of the small hills that people in Yeoksam-dong used to go up and down. •It is now urbanized, but it was named “Ssarigogae Park” to preserve the old place name.
