I left Nambu Terminal Station and came down to Sadang Station. Leaves are coming out, cornelian cherry trees are showing, and spring is coming.

It’s a good one-hour round trip course to Umyeonsan Mountain. Hiking in the rain is also refreshing~~

Umyeonsan Mountain in Seoul covers an area of 3.45km over 4 districts, including Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, and is 293m above sea level. The name of the mountain was given because the shape of the mountain resembles the shape of a cow lying down and sleeping. Umyeonsan Mountain is called by various names: ‘Gwanamsan Mountain’ because of the presence of Gatbawi Rock, ‘Sajeongsan Mountain’ because it was used for archery shooting in the old days, and ‘Sujeongbong Peak’ because crystals were mined. Because of its resemblance, it was also called Taebong because it is the place where Prince Wolsan, the older brother of King Seongjong of the Joseon Dynasty, was buried, meaning that although a cow walks slowly, it walks 1,000 miles, teaching us not to rush our lives and to take our time. I walked on the barrier-free forest path of Umyeonsan Mountain, where you can walk comfortably while feeling the phytoncide in the city. As the name suggests, it is a barrier-free deck road, so it is an easy walk for people in wheelchairs, strollers, men and women of all ages. As you walk along the path through the dense forest, the air is so refreshing that you may forget that downtown Seoul is right next to you. It is connected to Daeseongsa Temple and the Seoul Arts Center in the middle, so it is good for walking in conjunction with these facilities. The lighting is good, so it's great for walking in the evening or at night. A walk on Umyeonsan Mountain on Sunday afternoon became a small break from my daily life.

This is a beginner hiking course! It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes round trip! If you go up through the Seoul Arts Center, you will come across Daeseongsa Temple :) From there, head towards Seoul Dulle-gil (Maeheon Citizen's Forest) and follow the signpost with the Hope Tower written on it, and you will soon be at the top!

There are two ways to climb from the Seoul Human Resources Development Center to Umyeonsan Mountain’s Somang Tower. There is a way up from the southern ring road and a way up towards the tennis court next to the main building of the Human Resources Development Center. The shorter course to the Somang Tower is towards the tennis court. It's about a 3.5 km round trip from the Human Resources Development Center to Somang Tower, and it takes about an hour at normal speed. As the trail is a low mountain that many people visit, it is comfortable enough to walk in sneakers like a trail. From the Somang Tower, you can only see Namsan Mountain to the north and Cheonggyesan Mountain to the south.
