It's been a while since I've been here, and it feels good every time I come. I came during the Chuseok holiday, and surprisingly, admission was free, so it was even better. The trail is well-maintained and not very short, so it's great for walking and healing while looking at the forest scenery. I visited on a drizzly day and the scenery was even better. I had a good rest.

I went to Jeongneung. From kindergarten to high school, I went to this place whenever there were picnics, drawing contests, and other events because it was close by, so I got sick of it, but as I got older, I started going back. When I was young, there was only a tomb, and I built a forest path around it to create a walking path. Escaping from the noise of the city, I find great comfort in the quiet atmosphere. It seems like I live in a really nice neighborhood.
Jeongneung is the tomb of Queen Sindeok Kang, the second queen of the first king of Joseon, Yi Seong-gye. It is rare among royal tombs to have a single-person tomb structure, and the style of royal tombs from the early Joseon Dynasty remains, allowing you to see the form of early royal tombs. Jeongneung is largely structured as follows: entrance space → ancestral rite space → tomb space. After passing through Hongsalmun Gate, it was interesting to see that the path leading to the tomb (the king's path) and the path for the general public were divided, and since the tomb was located on the top of a hill, I was able to observe it from afar. It is not just a ‘royal tomb’, but a quiet walking space in the city center with forests, valleys, and nature in harmony, so it is good to take a leisurely stroll. It would have been better if I had come when the flowers were in full bloom and the leaves were turning color. I enjoyed the sightseeing.

I visited Jeongneung to participate in an event called “The Dignity of a Queen.” I also recommend a tour of the nearby Jeongneung Market, where the air is good, the trees are nice, and you can feel the dignity of the Joseon royal family.

It’s worth going!!
The Jeongneung Royal Tomb of King Jungjong of the Joseon Dynasty is located within Seonjeongneung Royal Tomb located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. King Jungjong was born in 1488 and died in 1544. He was the 11th king of Joseon and reigned from 1506 to 1544. He is the son of King Seongjong, the 9th king, and his third queen, Queen Jeonghyeon. King Jungjong ascended to the throne through the King Jungjong Rebellion. This was an incident led by Park Won-jong, Yu Sun-jeong, and Seong Hui-an, which led to the dethronement of King Yeonsangun and the rise of King Jungjong to the throne at the age of 19. King Jungjong's tomb was initially built near Heereung, Seosamneung, Goyang, but was later moved to its current location by the third queen, Queen Munjeong, in the 17th year of King Myeongjong's reign (1562). Currently, Jeongneung is called Seonleung along with Seolleung (the tomb of King Seongjong and Queen Jeonghyeon), and the two tombs are located in the same tomb area. .

This is the tomb of Queen Sindeok Kang, the first queen and concubine of King Taejo Lee Seong-gye, who founded the Joseon Dynasty. After her death, her tomb, which had been buried in Jeong-dong within Hanyang City Wall by her political enemy, King Taejong, was moved to this place in Seongbuk-myeon, Yangju-gun, Gyeonggi-do at the time. At the Jongmyo Jerye, the stone monument and tomb were damaged, degrading it to an example of a concubine rather than a rite for a queen. On the day the tomb was damaged, a heavy rain fell along with a cry, and later on the day she was reinstated as queen during the reign of King Hyeonjong, another heavy rain fell and it is said to be the crying of Queen Shindeok's soul. It could also be said to be a tomb filled with so deep resentment. Even if you cannot get close to the relatively steep and high tomb right behind Jeongjagak, an intermediate forest path and red pear tree forest have been created so that you can walk on the mountain path around the tomb, making it a good place for a quiet walk. 》Admission fee 1,000 won
