서울국제정원박람회(2026.5.1~10.27)를 위한 정원 조성 공사로 인해 2026년 4월 30일까지 서울숲 중심 구역 대부분이 가설 담장과 펜스로 막혀있어 출입이 제한되고있다. 따라서 출입 가능한 지역인 사슴방사장과 습지, 그리고 한쪽 방향만 슬쩍 열어둔 커뮤니티센터 일원을 둘러보았다. 봄을 맞아 관람객은 상당히 늘었는데, 미리 대부분의 중심부가 진입 금지 상태임을 확인하지 못하고 나온 사람들이 많았다. 공원 안쪽으로 들어가려다 막힌 펜스 앞에서 발길을 돌리거나, 안내판을 다시 확인하는 모습이 자주 보였다. 서울숲은 여전히 산책하기 좋은 공간이지만, 당분간은 평소와 다른 동선으로 돌아봐야 하는 상황이다. 박람회를 준비하는 과정이라 어쩔 수 없는 변화지만, 방문 전 출입 가능한 구간의 확인이 필요하다.

Monday, February 16th is the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, when the spirit of spring finally appears at the end of the long winter. I was worried about parking, but when I arrived around 1pm, I was able to park with ease. Instead of the cold winter wind, there was a pleasant warmth in the air. It was a day with the best air quality in recent times, and the laughter of children with their families for the holiday filled the playground, which had been empty all winter. While the children were burning off their energy at the playground, the adults had a great time taking a leisurely stroll around the nearby Metasequoia Road or the central lake to relieve their stress. After going up and down the slide for a while, we took the children, who were sweating and exhausted, to ‘Seoul Forest Cafe Street’. Even though it was the Lunar New Year holiday, most cafes were open, but they were busier than usual.

I visited the Seoul Forest after a long time, and after finishing my morning work quickly, I went to visit the Seoul Forest. Some sections were closed due to construction for the garden fair. It was a shame that I couldn't see the main part, but some parts were still open, so I went for a nice walk. Construction will continue until April 30th, so please keep this in mind when visiting.

It snowed yesterday afternoon, but it seems like a little more fell in Seoul Forest, and the ground is lightly covered with white snow, giving it a special winter feel. Even though it is not enough, the sight of the white snow falling down is truly beautiful. When I tried to take a picture with the Mirror Pond in the background, I had to wait a long time for the Southeast Asian family who occupied the spot first and were completely absorbed in taking pictures. For them, each shot will probably remain as a special scene in their lives. Even the sound of footsteps was absorbed by the snow and became quiet, and as I looked around the Winter Forest, J-Hope Forest, Central Lake, the playground, and the Wetland Ecological Garden, I felt comforted as if I was in another dimension. In particular, the snowy Wetland Ecological Garden had a much more quiet and mysterious atmosphere than other areas. The harmony of the reed marsh and snow-covered deck path looked peaceful.

Seoul Forest is a theme park located in Seongsu-dong 1-ga, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and opened on June 18, 2005. The area is 1,156,498㎡ (approximately 350,000 pyeong), and it consists of 5 theme parks. The Han River and Jungnang Stream flow near the park, and the surrounding areas include Jungnang Stream, Eungbongsan Mountain, Dalmaji Park, Han River (Seongsu Bridge), and Ttukseom Resort, forming a huge green space. Seoul Forest is the first park in Korea created by citizens and operated by the private sector, and opened on November 1, 2016. It was operated by the Seoul Green Trust as a private consignment, but will be directly managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government from January 1, 2022. Seoul Forest consists of four unique spaces: Culture and Arts Park, Experiential Learning Center, Ecological Forest, and Wetland Ecological Garden. It is adjacent to the Han River, providing a variety of cultural and leisure spaces. When you go to Seoul Forest, you can feel as if you have returned to the embrace of nature.

The white-colored Seoul Forest is a large-scale forest path that you must visit when you come to Seongsu. I hurried to take a picture of the footprints of the large-scale forest path that you must visit when you come to Seongsu. The sculpture garden in the family yard has a new look because it is covered in snow, and the stone pagodas past the ginkgo forest are also an interesting sight. Visitors are making snowmen here and there, so it is fun to look at them. The trails have been cleared of snow, so it is not inconvenient to walk through.

It's a huge forest road built around Seongsu, Ttukseom. It's currently being prepared for a garden fair, so you can't go to the places where the War Horse Statue, Mirror Pond, and sculpture gardens that come to mind when you think of Seoul Forest are gathered. It's not that you can't go to all of them. You can enter Alya Dream Deer Room, Wetland Ecological Forest, Cherry Blossom Road (without cherry blossoms lol), Windy Hill, Gallery Garden, Bee Garden, Botanical Garden, you can enter. Especially, it was my first time going into the botanical garden, and it was amazing. It's well decorated. You can see stuffed insects, and there's a waterfall flowing in the summer. Don't just say construction is going on and come back. You can go back to the side, so take a look.

It snowed quite a bit last night, and Seoul Forest presents a dazzling, pure white landscape, drowning out the noise of the city. It's a pity that after several consecutive days of severe cold, the daytime temperature will rise today and this dazzling snowscape, which is a long-awaited gift, will soon be gone. The view of the wetland from the observation deck of the Wetland Ecological Garden is like an ink painting. It's hard to believe that it's in the middle of the city, but the snowy scenery of the Wetland Ecological Garden makes visitors feel pleasantly isolated from the world. When you need a moment of pause in your tiring daily life, the silence of a wetland covered in white snow resonates deeper than any words of comfort.
