Jungsikdang Gocheok

Gocheok Chinese restaurant located under Gocheok Church. It is a famous Jjamppong restaurant. Jjamppong is filled with plenty of meat and vegetables and has the right fiery aroma. It is very delicious. I highly recommend it to those who are looking for a good Jjamppong restaurant in the area. ~^^

It was my first time visiting. I liked it because it was large and not spicy.

Jjamppong is really spicy. The mango smoothie served for dessert is also refreshing.

Everything on the menu at Gocheok Chinese Restaurant is delicious! If I had gone with a group of people instead of alone, I would have definitely eaten the mango shrimp...🍤🍤

This is a return visit. The food and store were really clean, so I had a pleasant meal. I ordered meat jjamppong, and the jjamppong soup wasn't thick at all, but was refreshing and clean, so I enjoyed it until the end. Last time I tried it, the portion was too big, so I asked for half the noodles and ate it. The ingredients felt fresh and the seasoning was just right! And above all, the owner was so kind that it made my visit even more pleasant. The store was kept clean and maintained, which gave me even more confidence. I 100% plan to visit again!! I found this place after searching hard, but the owner and his wife are very friendly and the store is very clean. I often get scared when I see a water bottle when I go to a restaurant, but the owner here seems to pay a lot of attention to hygiene. The hot meat jjamppong made upon ordering is topped with plenty of meat! I fell in love with the sight once, and when I took a bite, the slightly spicy and mild soup was so good that I could drink it without any pressure. I ended up rolling up the rice as well. The Sichuan-style stir-fried black bean paste noodles were also rich and delicious. It was one of the best black bean noodles I've had recently... I think I'll come to Gocheok haha I really enjoyed the mango you gave me for dessert❤️ May you prosper🥳

The food is clean and good, but the service seems to need some effort. Jjamppong is clean. It's not greasy, it's refreshing, and it's shrimp jjamppong, with one large shrimp and 3-4 cocktail shrimp. Sweet and sour pork is sweet and sour pork style with glutinous rice. The taste is clean and good, but the meat is small and the batter is too thick. To increase the quantity, I coated the starch fried bread thickly, but as I ate it, I was worried about blood sugar spikes and the chewy texture was not very good. Desserts, including sweet mango puree, are provided, and you can feel the taste of someone who worked at the Chosun Hotel. However, I didn't get a very good impression from the serving lady because I felt a bit rude. I don't think there's a need to be always friendly in service jobs, but there's no need to be rude either. You can feel it even in just one or two words.

While I'm writing this review, I want to eat it again. It was delicious and the amount of food was generous, something you don't often see in Seoul. It was better because they were friendly.

I kept trying to come, but there were never any seats, so I couldn't get in. I finally got to try it. I ordered the regular jajang and shrimp jjambbong, and the ingredients tasted fresh and healthy, so I can see why it's popular.
