Been going to Gup Morning Charcoal BBQ near Ssangmun Station for almost 20 years now. Bone-in tastes better but I'm lazy so I go boneless medium spice. The BBQ comes slathered in sauce and perfectly grilled, and the tteok is delicious! The tteok is chewy and satisfying, and rice with kimchi on the side is perfect. Mix the rice with the sauce and top with kimchi — heaven~ They have plenty of other anju besides BBQ too!

Found a REAL charcoal BBQ gem!! Less MSG-y than J*pa, not as intense — perfect anju with soju. Definitely becoming a regular! If they could bump up the spice level a notch on the Korean-style menu, it'd be even more perfect!! Owner and staff are super friendly so I'll be coming back often! Work less and earn more!! 😍
