아이와 함께 종종 들르는 동네 이자카야입니다. 꼬치구이를 비롯해서 야끼소바, 감바스, 치킨 가라아게 등등 뭐 하나 빠짐없이 맛있습니다. 이런 요리에는 당연히 생맥주 한 잔 마시지 않을 수가 없죠. 그동안 별생각 없이 먹고 마시기만 했는데, 어느날 가게를 나오다가 문 앞에 붙은 '조리기능장' 명패가 눈에 들어왔습니다. 요즘 <흑백요리사>를 즐겨 봤더니 이런 게 보이네요. 대충 알기로는 조리기능사, 기사, 그리고 수년의 경력을 더 쌓아야만 기능장을 딸 수가 있답니다. 그보다 위에 명장이라 불리는 이는 1년에 한 명 뽑을까 말까 할 만큼 대단한 사람들이라고. 그동안 하나도 모르던 영역의 세계였습니다. 그래서일까. 어째서인지 이집 요리가 더 맛있게 느껴지네요. 역시 아는만큼 보인다, 아니, 먹는다입니다.

Came to Toyo in Bukgajwa to celebrate my birthday with friends today, and as always, the delicious food and drinks made for an amazing birthday! I'll always think of Toyo first whenever I want to go drinking. Highly recommend!!

Owner… 💕 I'm so glad I found this place. Every skewer and every piece of tteokbokki is handmade with such care — you can really taste the love. It's honestly the kind of spot I end up visiting every week! I'll be ordering the sisters set (?) again next time 🤣
