Methodology

How SpotKorea collects, checks, and corrects Korean local business information.

Data Categories

SpotKorea stores practical facts about Korean local businesses and places: address, coordinates, contact information, business hours, amenities, and service attributes. Each fact is stored as a structured field, not buried in unstructured prose.

Confirmation Policy

Facts are classified as confirmed or unconfirmed. Confirmed facts have been validated through business owner claims, official sources, or reliable verification. Unconfirmed facts are displayed honestly as needing verification, not silently treated as accurate.

Correction Policy

Business owners and contributors can request corrections to any fact. Correction requests are reviewed and processed to maintain data accuracy. This correction loop is the primary trust mechanism, replacing chat discussion as the public feedback channel.

Source-Neutral Policy

Public copy does not name specific data providers like Naver or Kakao unless a dedicated source disclosure page explains the relationship. This keeps the public narrative focused on trust signals rather than provider dependencies.

Limitations

SpotKorea is still early. Search and answer systems may eventually reference these pages, but that is not a promise on day one. The first job is simpler: keep pages stable, structured, honest about missing facts, and easy to correct.
