조선6대 단종이 귀양가서 죽임을 당한 후 저순왕후송씨가 매일 동쪽을 바라보며 망왕 단종의 멍복을 빌었다는 동망봉에 팔각정을 지어서 '동망정'이라 한다.

정순왕후가 청룡사에 머물때 다녔다는 공원. 공원 끝자락에 단종이 있는 영월을 보면서 그리워했다는 동망봉이 백미이다. 청룡사에서 나와서 자이 아파트 옆길 따라 5분정도 걸으면 도착하며 근린공원이다보니 운동기구나, 배드민턴장 등이 주로 있다. 동망봉을 올라갔다가 내려오면 바로 동묘역 방향으로 가는 길이 있어서 10분 정도 내려오면 동묘역에 도착한다
