Gangnam Yeoksam-dong lunch dosirak spot "Taiwan Bendang Gangnam Branch" — 778m from Gangnam Station Exit 4. "Taiwan Bendang" means Taiwanese lunchbox, and it's a home-style Taiwanese place. The owner started cooking in 1973, working as head chef at Chosun Hotel, Walkerhill Hotel, Renaissance Hotel, received Seoul Mayor's commendation, and served as a Chinese cuisine judge — a true elite course. The dongpayuk (braised pork belly) rice bowl had huge chunks of meat that were incredibly tender, literally melting in your mouth. Just touching it with chopsticks made it fall apart. The sweet-salty balance was absolutely insane. Highly recommend Taiwan Bendang in Yeoksam-dong!
